Canongate Kirk on Royal Mile
Dear reader, well my friend had booked the best hotel location at Hunter Sq right in the midst of Old Town so arriving comfortably from airport with Airlink buses at Waverly Station (lucky a city thats so full of poetry you would name your central station after it.) And mind you, Sir Walter Scott sits right around the corner. Its was just a short walk to the Ibis Hotel but what a better way to get a feel for the city than to get lost right away? Cause we knew how to follow the map but it was impossible to find the entrance, so to speak. When its UP you have to go in Edinburgh you soon realize its a city like hardly any other, maybe Lisbon.

And I immediately feel in love with the hotel when I saw the tartan draped chairs in the lounge. Welcome to Scotland! Unfortunately, the weather was as it should be: drizzling and misty. So just had to buy a new scarf which I just love for its purple/blue tartan. (Extra treat: Enjoy reading "Chanel goes Scotland"

So with the Royal Mile around the corner you can walk all the way down to the Queen's home, The Holyrood House and check out Canongate Kirk with its ancient cemetary that is populated with famous locals all around.
Adam Smith, Robert Burns, Stevenson, David Hume, no wonder people turn into writers with such a city to live in: felt to me JK Rowling whose HP I love had the story right in front of her, all she needed to do was write it down: Potterrow, Riddle's Ct, Jokes &Novelties? Diagon Alley looks like Edinburgh in its darkest places to me!

With no subway it dependence mostly on buses but you can practically walk anywhere. We took the Majestic tour to hop on hop off, and just loved it! For your expensive shopping such as LK Bennett its George Street in New Town, for some terror tours you wanna go to Greyfriars and St. Giles Cathedral. Follow me on bloglovin!
