Lesens_Wertes: 75yrs_Rebecca_40'sMovieStartStyle

"Last night I dreamt I went to Manderley again..."  Dear reader, haven't you heard those opening lines before?
Its seems like this year-2013-is gonna be the year to celebrate great literature and art. Just think of another anniversary thats happening which is Daphne du Maurier's "Rebecca" first published in 1938. It has been produced as a movie, a musical, and put on TV but my personal favorites are Laurence Olivier and Joan Fontaine, directed by Alfred Hitchcock.

Recently Ken Follett has taken the plot and used it for one of his own spy novels. Not only the style but the story remains an inspiration and right so! Or else would I have come up with a twitter alias? Wentomanderly Here is an inspiration blog on how to do it 40's style. For some more inspiration check out this months Vogue Germany and read about Philipp Stadelmaiers essay "Vom Glanz und Schatten" about how German 20s moviemakers have been shaping international film makers up to the present! And at London fashion week Dsquared2 has just shown mostly 4os silhouette inspired gowns!
